HMP Communications Holdings, LLC Spotlights Las Vegas Wound Care Efforts to Celebrate Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval’s Proclamation on Wound Care

HMP Communications Holdings, LLC (HMP), a leader in healthcare communications and education, today announced Desert Springs Hospital as its most recent “Facility in Focus” inductee, a special designation given to exceptional wound care facilities from around the country through HMP’s journal, Today’s Wound Clinic.

Desert Springs Hospital is located in the backyard of the upcoming Symposium on Advanced Wound Care Fall (SAWC Fall) conference in Las Vegas, NV from September 27-29, 2013. Collectively, these efforts further support Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval’s proclamation of September 2013 as Chronic Wound Care Awareness Month.

The editorial team from Today’s Wound Clinic, along with SAWC Fall officers, will be on-site at the Desert Springs Hospital from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 to engage local media and conduct interviews for the upcoming “Facility in Focus” feature article. Desert Springs Hospital uses advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine to treat a wide range of wounds including:

  •     Pressure Ulcers, stages 1, 2, 3 and 4
  •     Diabetic Ulcers — neuropathic and others
  •     Surgical incisions/ Surgical Wound Deshiscences
  •     Burn Wounds
  •     Venous stasis wounds
  •     Ischemic wounds / Arterial Ulcers

“Desert Springs Hospital Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center provides the [Greater Las Vegas] community with an evidenced-based, multidisciplinary team approach to dealing with all types of wounds,” explains Dr. Minh Nguyen, the facility’s medical director. “From applying Bio-engineered Tissue and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, to utilizing specialized dressings, we focus on promoting wound healing potential in order to effectively heal wounds in a timely manner.”
