Canvas Provides Health Care Organizations With The Ability To Securely Collect Patient Sensitive Health Information For EMR Systems On Mobile Devices.

Herndon, VA (PRWEB) May 11, 2010 -- Canvas announced today it had released a new configurable version of their mobile service allowing subscribers the ability to support HIPAA HITECH compliant mobile applications on the Canvas service. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 requires that healthcare organizations enforce a number of safeguards to secure Protected Health Information (PHI), providing that level of security in a mobile environment has only been available to date through the use point solutions designed to meet one need.    With this latest release of Canvas, healthcare organizations, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) providers and others in the health care arena can now create their own custom mobile applications or choose one from The Healthcare and Life Sciences section of the Canvas Mobile App Store assured that their information collected is safe and secure.

With Canvas, disconnected healthcare workers in a hospital, health care facility or at a remote setting such as a patient’s home can collect key information regarding patients, schedule appointments, record medications, as well as pull up key medical history information in a completely customizable environment.
