HIPAA Amendments Contained in President Obama's Stimulus Bill Among New Sessions Added to HCCA's 2009 Compliance Institute

"The Road Ahead and How to Navigate It" - addresses pressing challenges health care providers face in the current enforcement and economic environments

MINNEAPOLIS, March 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Important Privacy and Security information critical to all health care providers related to HIPAA [Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act] amendments contained in President Obama's Stimulus Bill is one of two "hot topic" new sessions just added to the HCCA 13th Annual Compliance Institute conference agenda, the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) announced today. The Compliance Institute, being held April 26-29, 2009, Caesars Palace, Las Vegas is the health care industry's largest and single most comprehensive compliance conference. It is designed by compliance and ethics professionals specifically to meet the needs of today's health care compliance officers and their staff.

This new session addressing HIPAA Amendments -- "Who needs caffeine when you have the stimulus bill; How the Recent Stimulus Plan Impacts Health Care Providers: What Every Compliance Officer Needs to Know" -- is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2009 from to 2 to 5 PM. This session will focus on the changes to Privacy and Security; the false claims implication; and Implications to research.
