HAP Offers Web-Based Support for Depression and Bipolar Disorder

DETROIT, April 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- People with bipolar disorder and depression can find hope and help with HAP's online support services.

HAP's interactive Health Care Decision Support system, available through the Web site http://www.hap.org, offers "one-click" access to a host of resources to support health decisions including:

-- information on how to manage bipolar disorder and depression;

-- links to online and local support groups, and community forums;

-- information and costs for drugs used to treat their condition;

-- an online health journal to chart their mood and mood history,

medication history, receive reminder/alert messages; and

-- a program to help people recognize the signs of depression and bipolar

disorder.

Health Alliance Plan is committed to helping individuals with bipolar disorder and depression regain control of their life by equipping them with the knowledge, motivation and resources they need to manage their mental health.

Health technology tools help patients gain access to HAP's vital health care and disease management resources. Extensive web-based patient support tools are integrated with comprehensive patient care services, including preventive services, coordinated disease management and health coaching.
