Greg Fischer Named AvMed Health Plans' New Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing

MIAMI, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Greg Fischer has been named AvMed's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. As a member of AvMed's senior executive team Fischer will be responsible for leading the company's strategy as it relates to membership growth and retention in all markets around the state. He will also continue to build AvMed's brand in the marketplace.

"AvMed conducted an exhaustive national search to find a candidate that brings the depth and experience that Greg brings," said Ed Hannum, AvMed's President and COO. "He has spent many years in health insurance and health plan operations, sales and marketing, and finance, and we are thrilled to have him bring that knowledge to our organization."

Fischer has more than 15 years of health plan experience. Most recently he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Blue Cross & Blue Shield (BCBS) of South Carolina. There, he was responsible for all marketing and sales in support of small group and individual products. Prior to BCBS, Fischer held finance and accounting roles for the Federal Government.

AvMed is one of Florida's oldest and largest not-for-profit health plans, and is solely focused on providing health coverage to Florida citizens and businesses. AvMed is one of only a few health plans in the United States that enjoys dual "Excellent" accreditation status for both its commercial and Medicare health plans from the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
