GranuFlo Lawsuit Filings Near 2,000 in Federal Massachusetts Litigation Two Years after Dialysis Recall, Bernstein Liebhard LLP Reports
Date:7/20/2014

fication that warned of GranuFLo and NaturaLyte’s association with metabolic alkalosis, a condition that may be associated with serious heart problems. This may be caused by the medications’ elevated amount of an ingredient the body converts to bicarbonate. Two months later, the FDA announced a Class I recall of the medications after finding that hundreds of people suffered cardiovascular injuries after taking GranuFlo and NaturaLyte.

A New York Times report published shortly after the June 2012 recall indicates that the FDA was investigating Fresenius Medical Care, after finding that the company knew about hundreds of patient deaths that followed use of the medications.*

Individuals who allegedly suffered heart attacks, strokes, or other life-threatening heart events within 72 hours of using GranuFlo and NaturaLyte in dialysis may be entitled to compensation for their injuries.
