Former Vermont Governor to sign new book on healthcare reform

BURLINGTON, Vt., Sept. 23 -- Governor Howard Dean will be in Philadelphia, PA and New York City on Thursday, September 24th to discuss health care reform and sign copies of his new book, Howard Dean's Prescription for Real Healthcare Reform (www.deanshealthcare.com).

Dean will appear at the Philadelphia Free Library for a noon book signing and discussion. In the evening, Governor Dean will appear at the 92nd Street Y for an interview and discussion conducted by best-selling author and noted journalist, Joe Conason, on the latest in the healthcare reform debate and the future of the progressive movement. Following the program, Gov Dean will sign copies of his book.

In his book Dean gives a frank assessment of America's healthcare system and what is needed for real reform. He also makes a strong case for a public health insurance option and takes on the lies and myths the right-wing and insurance companies have used to block reform. The book is published by Chelsea Green Publishing Company, based in Vermont.
