Governor Daniels Solicits Legion Recommendations On Children's Home
Date:1/26/2009

decision to close the home was made for the right reason, or with all the facts in hand.

"I believe the governor has been badly served by the Indiana Department of Health," which made the recommendation to close the home without an in-depth study, Short said.

Short, along with several other representatives of the Legion, met with the State Commission of Health, Judith Monroe, M.D., on January 23. During the meeting, he said, it became clear that the agency was unaware of many factors affecting the operation of the home.
