Gluten Free Superstore Opens With 4,000 Products

31 million Americans fight lifelong battles with digestive problems ranging from gluten intolerance to celiac disease.

Springfield, MA (PRWEB) October 21, 2009 -- A newly-opened online store will sell a wide assortment of gluten free products to clients who suffer from celiac disease and gluten intolerance. This medical problem can show up at any age, and once diagnosed, becomes a lifelong battle to control its adverse effects. To control the disease, patients must maintain a gluten free diet which eliminates products containing wheat, rye, barley, and oats.

While gluten free products are slowly finding their way onto grocery shelves, the typical selection is usually limited to 50 items or less. 'Our new online store has over 4,000 gluten free products,' said Dr. Tatiana DiDonato, founder of The Gluten Free Review and a Russian Allergist whose husband suffers from the medical condition. She went on to say, "This significantly increases the selection over typical grocery and health store offerings, and makes a gluten free lifestyle easier to maintain."

The Mayo Clinic and The New England Journal of Medicine are now reporting evidence that the disease may be linked to medical conditions ranging from osteoporosis and infertility to stunted growth, irritability, and depression. As these studies and reports start to propagate into mainstream medicine, physicians are becoming more aware of the symptoms associated with gluten and gliadin protein intolerance. As a result, the rate of detection and diagnosis is on the increase. Newest estimates are that the number of sufferers may be 4 times as large as the current population of 31 million.
