Global theme issue on poverty and human development

New Rochelle, NY, October 22, 2007Four Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. journals are participating in the Global Theme Issue on Poverty and Human Development, a special worldwide publishing event on October 22, 2007 to raise awareness and stimulate dialogue to address poverty and human development. The Council of Science Editors has organized this unique simultaneous publication event with the participation of key journals throughout the world, including those published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. www.liebertpub.com

Contributions to this Global Theme Issue from Liebert journals include:

  • AIDS Patient Care and STDs: Human Resources for Treating HIV/AIDS: Needs, Capacities, and Gaps. This particular paper, by Till Brnighausen (University of KwaZulu-Natal, Mtubatuba, South Africa), David Bloom (Harvard), and Salal Humair (Lahore University of Management and Sciences, Pakistan), has been selected to be one of seven papers to be presented orally at the NIH Launch of the CSE Global Theme Issue. A second paper, Economic Stress and HIV-Associated Healthcare Utilization in a Rural Region of China: A Qualitative Study, is also part of the Global Theme Issue.
