(PRWEB) August 26, 2013

Dr. Ted Holloway, former Commissioner John Oxendine, Lt. Governor Casey Cagle (via video) and Senator Tyler Harper were special guests at the Global and Georgia Partnership for TeleHealth’s open house showcasing the beautiful new corporate office. GPT employees welcomed over 100 guests at the event on Thursday, August 15, 2013, held at the new corporate office located on Plant Avenue Extension in Blackshear, Georgia (formally the Patterson Bank Building).

GPT’s CEO, Paula Guy, made opening remarks and introductions. Dr. James Story, Chairman, Board of Directors for Global Partnership for TeleHealth, gave a brief synopsis about the company and its growth over the past eight years. Lt. Governor Casey Cagle accompanied by Dr. Jody Barrow, GPT Board Member, addressed the attendees via video from the capitol. Other guest speakers included Tyler Harper, Georgia State Senator, District 7, who presented Mrs. Guy with a resolution from the state Senate commending GPT and recognizing March 1, 2013 as TeleHealth day at the capitol. Mrs. Guy was so honored that John Oxendine, former Insurance Commissioner of Georgia, and Dr. Ted Holloway, former director of the Southeast Health Unit, were in attendance. Both were the visionaries and instrumental in GPT leading the nation with the most comprehensive, cost effective, high quality network in the nation. Mrs. Guy stated that “GPT would not be here if it was not for Commissioner Oxendine and Dr. Holloway. They are both my heroes. Credit also goes to my incredible team who has been devoted to making a difference using telemedicine.” After the speakers, Mrs. Guy introduced Dr. Debra Lister, another board member, other city officials, and honored guests as well as all the GPT employees. Next, Pastor Danny Crosby of Jamestown Baptist Church gave some encouraging words, and then he prayed for blessings upon the company and all those touched by telemedicine. Finally, Eva Byrd of Waycross and Ware County Chamber of Commerce provided a beautiful, red ribbon for the occasion. Matt Carter with the Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, other officials, and GPT staff gathered around the mural in lobby while CEO Paula Guy cut the ribbon. Dr. Jeffrey Kesler, COO, invited guests to observe demonstrations of telemedicine equipment. The guests enjoyed the networking opportunity as they continued to tour the facility.
