Global Sourcing Strategies for the Pharmaceutical Industry 10th - 11th November, Marriott Princeton, New Jersey USA
Date:10/6/2008

NEW JERSEY, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The organizers of Informex are delighted to announce their inaugural conference on Global Sourcing for the Pharmaceutical Industry, taking place November 10th-11th 2008 at the Princeton Marriott in New Jersey USA.

The conference is chaired by David Kinnear, President & CEO of the Global Sourcing Council, and boasts an unparalleled panel of key industry speakers including the likes of Johnson & Johnson, Bristol Myers Squibb, Genentech, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Roche Molecular Diagnostics.

Kinnear explains that there is no doubt that the evolution from early-day outsourcing to the more modern-day concept of global sourcing has led to some of the most profound fiscal and socio-economic implications of our century. The next generation of operational and business opportunity is one that no-one working in the field of pharmaceutical procurement can afford to ignore.

However, there is a real sense that whilst the opportunities presented by global sourcing are plentiful, the challenges are very real and need careful consideration if procurement professionals are to reap the rewards of a global sourcing strategy.

Issues addressed during the course of the two days include; applying the market and regulatory trends of the future to pharma's mid- to long-term strategy; transforming procurement organizations to respond quickly to the pressures of modern-day sourcing; implementing effective risk and governance strategies when dealing with emerging markets; identifying and initiating long-term supplier relationships in the most timely and cost-effective way; and adopting a sustainable approach to remaining informed about the latest low-cost country hotspots.

Delegates will benefit from a range of in-depth case study led presentations, interactive panel sessions, and country specific roundtables, as well as a networking drinks reception on the evening of Monday 10th November 2008.
