Battle Creek, Michigan (PRWEB) June 14, 2013
A conference aimed at making the food supply safe through innovative technology is set for June 19 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The program, titled “Innovations in Life Sciences & Technology in Improving Food Protection,” will feature speakers from academia and from regulatory, industry and public-advocacy groups involved in food-protection technologies.
The Global Food Protection Institute’s Symposia series and MichBio, a biosciences trade association, are offering the conference at Western Michigan University’s Fetzer Center. Participants can expect to hear engaging speaker presentations on new food protection technologies and the path technologies take from concept to marketplace.
“The Global Food Protection Institute’s collaboration with MichBio reflects our shared commitment to advancing science and technology to improve the protection of the food supply,” said Dr. Julia Bradsher, President and CEO of GFPI.
“Food safety is a growing global health challenge and we applaud GFPI’s leadership in raising awareness of this important subject and the technological applications being developed to ensure a protected food supply chain," said Stephen Rapundalo, President and CEO of MichBio. “MichBio is honored to join GFPI in co-hosting this conference.”
