GlassesUSA.com Launches Eyeglasses Refer-A-Friend Program
Date:7/9/2010

Online retailer offers money for eyeglasses to customers when they refer friends.

(PRWEB) July 10, 2010 -- GlassesUSA.com is announcing a new program to help keep the cost of eyewear affordable while helping to spread the word about their affordable products. Since word-of-mouth advertising has long been the most successful form of advertising, the GlassesUSA Refer-A-Friend program was designed to allow current customers tell their friends and family members about the online glasses retailer. In exchange, for each friend referred, the original customer would receive a discount on their next purchase of eyeglasses. The concept, while not new in the retail industry, is unique in the e-commerce optical world. The Refer-A-Friend program is part social media marketing and part viral marketing.

The New Jersey-based optical website, that specializes in high quality eyeglasses and sunglasses, sees the Refer-A-Friend program as a unique advantage to retaining previous customers and attaining new customers. Jay Englemayer, the Vice President of Business Development for GlassesUSA.com, explains "For our past customers who loved their glasses and had great experiences with GlassesUSA, this program allows them to tell their friends and family about their experiences with us. Those future and potential customers will be given a coupon code that will give them a percentage off of their final order."

For GlassesUSA.com, this is an opportunity to spread the word about their high quality prescription glasses. The company is innovating a new concept in referral technology - they are utilizing the Facebook platform to allow customers to refer their friend with ease. GlassesUSA, known for their inexpensive eyeglass frames and excellent customer service, is offering a 10% discount to prospective customers and an past customers who participate in the program will receive a 10% discount for each pair of glasses purchased by their referred friends.

Mr. Engelmayer continues, "While it's not hard to find inexpensive glasses online, it is difficult to find high quality eyeglasses online. We want to give our former customers an incentive to purchase glasses with us again. For the past customer, they will receive a discount for every pair of glasses purchased by their friend from GlassesUSA which will be good towards their next pair. If one person refers five friends and three of them purchase 1 pair of glasses each, the past customer will receive a 30% discount on their next pair of glasses. This is an exciting opportunity for GlassesUSA and we're thrilled to be working alongside our customers."
