(BMV: LAB) ("Genomma Lab" or "the Company"), a leading Mexican over-the-counter ("OTC") pharmaceuticals and personal care products company announced today the successful launch of the personal hair care product line Ma Evans. The product launch was realized through a mass media campaign under the brand name "Ma Evans Evolution". The Company has been successful in placing the product in the market through its distribution channels. In addition, the product has been well-received at the point of sale, and has surpassed initial sales objectives. The product launch contains five SKU's in the anti-hair loss shampoo, anti-hair loss treatment and hair gel categories.
The Ma Evans brand was acquired by Genomma Lab during the fourth quarter 2007 due to its high level of brand recognition in the shampoo and anti-hair loss treatment categories. With this launch, Genomma Lab reinforces its presence in the hair care category, in which it currently participates under the anti-dandruff shampoo brand Medicasp. The market size of the Mexican hair care category is approximately Ps. 15 billion pesos(1).
With this launch, Genomma Lab confirms its capacity to acquire, transform and re-launch brands focused on the target consumer's likes and preferences.
