Comprehensive, Online IP Research Solution Gets Improvements in Global Content, Search Algorithms, and Analysis Tools

Boston, MA (Vocus) May 24, 2010 -- GenomeQuest today announced the immediate availability of GenomeQuest 6.3 for IP -- the latest version of its online IP sequence search product.

Overall GenomeQuest for IP offers researchers a comprehensive, easy-to-use research solution with unmatched content aggregation, search algorithms, and analysis tools. New capabilities offered in the 6.3 version include:

-- Integration of DNA and Protein Searching -- researchers can now search IP databases of nucleotides and associated proteins simultaneously. The combined set of matches can be queried and analyzed as a single results database, saving time and errors associated with manually combining two different sets of results.

-- Content Expansion -- over 265,000 patents are now stored in the GQ-PAT database, including sequences and all annotations. GQ-PAT now aggregates, normalizes, curates, and updates IP information across global databases, including USPTO, EPO, WIPO & PCT, INPADOC, GenBank, EMBL, DDBJ, and paper filings at WIPO.

-- Enhanced Search and Analysis -- GQ-PAT offers multiple search algorithms, including BLAST, GenePast, and more. Each algorithm is suited to a different use case and works across the selected set of global databases.

-- The result browser has been upgraded to the GenomeQuest 6.0 platform, allowing users to interactively query/filter/group on any field, quickly pinpoint matches of most interest, and generate comprehensive IP search reports. Multiple users c
