General Dynamics Awarded Multiple Contracts to Support Defense Medical Logistics Supply Chain Operations

FAIRFAX, Va., June 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded three task orders by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support Wholesale Program (DMLSS-W). The contracts have a total potential value of $7.4 million over two years if all options are exercised.

Under these tasks, General Dynamics will provide information-technology engineering and professional services to support procurement, catalogue management and related supply-chain operations. The DLA Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) Program Office provides procurement and supply-chain services to support Military Health System (MHS) logistics requirements and helps U.S. military healthcare providers deliver advanced medical care rapidly and effectively to patients worldwide. DMLSS-W improves medical product availability to military health operations through increased automation, coordination and readiness planning.

"Effective military health operations require rapid-response treatment capabilities and immediate access to critical medical supplies," said Ken Slaght, vice president and general manager of Maritime Systems for General Dynamics Information Technology. "General Dynamics is supporting the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support Wholesale Program's focus on achieving new levels of efficiency and responsiveness to support military medical staff globally."
