Gastro Health Expands Executive Leadership Team Amid Rapid Growth
Date:8/14/2018

Gastro Health, LLC (“Gastro Health”), one of the nation’s fastest-growing gastroenterology groups, today announced new leadership roles for healthcare executives Simon Frisch and Chris Weinstein, who have been appointed Senior Vice President, Strategic Operations and Division Vice President, Florida, respectively. They assume their roles at a time of tremendous growth for the group, which has increased its physician headcount by more than 40% over the past twelve months to 118 providers across 55 offices in Florida. The two bring decades of combined experience and will help build vital leadership capacity for Gastro Health’s growing platform during a highly acquisitive period for the company.

“These are energizing times at Gastro Health,” said Gastro Health CEO, Joseph M. Garcia. “Simon and Chris are exceptional professionals who are mission-driven on our commitment to providing outstanding medical care and patient experiences. Their expertise is critical as we continue to scale the business.”

At a time of robust M&A activity in the gastroenterology space, Frisch and Weinstein will help guide Gastro Health’s patient-centered strategic priorities and the change management necessary to ensure successful integration of newly acquired physician groups. They will also oversee a slate of newly expanded regional leadership roles as Gastro Health continues its march across the state.

Simon Frisch
Simon Frisch has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Strategic Operations with a focus on system-wide operational strategy and execution for the organization. Frisch will oversee the Gastro Health project management office, ancillary services, practice integration, marketing, and clinical recruiting. He will also collaborate with Gastro Health’s division teams to grow and optimize the group’s Care Centers and expanding geographic markets. Frisch is a seasoned health care entrepreneur and business leader with over 20 years of diverse industry and functional experience. Prior to joining Gastro Health as Vice President of Operations in 2017, he served in progressive leadership roles at MEDNAX, a national healthcare solutions provider, and as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, Johnson & Johnson, and Deloitte Consulting. He earned his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his BA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Chris Weinstein
Chris Weinstein joins Gastro Health as Division Vice President, Florida. Weinstein will serve as the group’s principal leader for Florida, providing strategic and operational support as the group prepares to establish additional divisions beyond the state. She brings over 20 years of healthcare leadership and physician practice management experience, with success in leading and developing teams, as well as growing multi-site, multi-size operations. Prior to Joining Gastro Health, Weinstein served as Senior Vice President of Operations and COO for a joint venture partnership with Envision Physician Services (Formerly Sheridan Healthcare).
