GameTime Celebrates Opening of Give Kids the World Playground
Date:7/30/2008

FORT PAYNE, Ala., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- GameTime employees were honored to attend the grand opening of Matthew's Boundless Playground at the Give Kids the World Village. Give Kids the World is a 70-acre, non-profit resort in the Orlando area that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The facility provides accommodations at its resort, along with donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long, cost-free fantasy vacation. With the help of many generous individuals, corporations, and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids the World has welcomed more than 85,000 families from all 50 states and over 60 countries.

The village features a magical theater, fun activities, and whimsical housing, however, it did not have a playground until GameTime and Boundless Playgrounds, together with the guiding help from Hasbro, created a CandyLand themed wonderland. Children can play under and on the shaded GameTime playground structure or engage in a life size game of CandyLand, as the board game's colorful pathways come to life in the poured-in-place recycled rubber surfacing surrounding the play area. All of these elements combine to create a truly unique environment where imagination and wonder are never in short supply.

After a heartfelt dedication ceremony, the park was opened to children on July 14. Park personnel led everyone in games, dance, and of course lots of free play!
