Date:11/13/2008

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing- Los Angeles (GLEH LA) and the managing general partner of the nation's first nonprofit, affordable, multicultural housing development that includes a community service center supporting the needs of GLBT elders, for both residents and non-residents, has announced the hiring of Sheila Moore, LCSW, MSG as its new Director of Programs & Community Outreach. Sheila comes to GLEH LA directly from the Olympia Medical Center where she worked as Director of the Center for Geriatric Health. Sheila earned a Masters Degree in Social Work and a Masters Degree in Gerontology at the University of Southern California.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sheila to GLEH," said GLEH Executive Director Mark Supper. "Our facility opened its doors in Hollywood in June of 2007 and her work will be critical to providing our residents with programs that enhance their lives as they become acclimated to their new homes. In addition, the programs that Sheila will develop will benefit the larger elder GLBT community through our community service center."

The $20.3M, 103-unit building located on the corner of Selma and Ivar Avenues in Hollywood is designed to house individuals of mixed incomes under an affordable housing model. 30 of the units are set aside for people who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or who are living with HIV/AIDS. "It is extremely fulfilling, both professionally and personally, to be given the opportunity of being involved with an unprecedented, historical venture like this one," said Sheila Moore. "We have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of a vastly underserved segment of the GLBT community. I look forward to serving the residents at Triangle Square and our greater community of GLBT seniors. My work will include creating and continuing partnerships with service providers who have been long time champions of Los Angeles area seniors. Together, we can do good and sign
