Independent NYC-based visual design studio FusionLab successfully designs Thomson Reuters Marketboard application interface ahead of April's iPad launch date.
New York (PRWEB) May 18, 2010 — In April, Thomson Reuters called in FusionLab, a New York based, independent visual design agency, to develop the interface for a new application for Apple’s then-unreleased iPad. The goal of the application, Thomson Reuters Marketboard, is to provide financial professionals, students and market enthusiasts with easy access to information that drives the market. The app was envisioned not as a simple web portal to access current news and information, but also as a "virtual briefcase" in which users can purchase and save premium content and vital documents.
Though FusionLab has a great deal of experience in designing web and iPhone apps, the main challenge for this particular project was to create a graphical user interface for a device that was unavailable for testing in time for the iPad's release. Missing the deadline would have prevented the app from being published with the first 1,000 apps available on launch date.
Working together with Thomson Reuters mobility markets division, FusionLab developed a series of screens for use throughout the entire app, including interactive charts, news updates and transcript screens. Through a cycle of quick iterations and agile development, FusionLab and the Thomson Reuters team met the ultimate deadline successfully. The financial app was approved in time for iPad’s April 3rd launch and received great reviews in the financial community.
Now that the iPad is available, FusionLab will continue to partner with Thomson Reuters to further develop enhanced versions of Marketboard, as well as a variety of iPhone apps.
