Funeral Financials Asks Americans to Donate their Memorial Day Beer Money to Help EOD Scholarship

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 23, 2013

Funeral Financials is encouraging American’s to donate their beer money this Memorial Day to the EOD Memorial Foundation Funeral Financials considers EOD’s from the US Military to be the greatest victims from the war.

According to, bomb disposal in the United States originated in 1941 before the U.S. was even at war. True EOD’s of the United States Armed Forces are identified with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Badge. EOD technicians have been through special training in the construction and destruction of high explosives munitions and other types of ordnance such as bombs and chemical weapons. The EOD Badge also known as “the crab” is issued by the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, United States Navy, and the U.S. Marine Corps. It’s the only occupational badge that is awarded by all four branches of the U.S. Military.

Funeral Financials also reminds all veterans that if they are over the age of 50, and women, the AARP Life Insurance Scholarship may be available to possibly help them.

On May 4, 2013, according to, these names were added to the EOD wall commemorating those lost in service: Army Staff Sgt. Israel P. Nuanes, Army Staff Sgt. Eric S. Holman, Army Staff Sgt. Jonathan P. Schmidt, Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Joseph D'Augustine, Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Joseph H. Fankhauser, Marine Corps Sgt. John P. Huling, Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Sky R. Mote, EOD2 Petty Officer Taylor J. Gallant, Navy Lt. Christopher E. Mosko, Navy EOD1 Sean P. Carson, and Senior Airman Bryan R. Bell.

EOD Memorial Foundation provides education assistance to EOD’s that are survivors and that are pursuing higher education.

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday that takes place each year on the final Monday in May. It is a day of remembering American’s who died in the United States Armed Forces.

According to, Boardy Barn In Hamptom Bays, sells 600 kegs of Budweiser in 7 hours the Sunday before Memorial Day, which they state is even more than Yankee Stadium will sell in a game day.

Funeral Financials’ editor is quoted as stating that, “The purpose of Memorial Day was to honor those that have served in war and those that have fallen, we would like to get America to be a little healthier and stop drinking beer on Memorial Day and instead take that money to help benefit the lives of those that have been seriously injured serving America’s EODs. Many of guys went into the military for the right reasons, which was to save the lives of innocent children and victims in other countries, and other U.S. soldiers by the dismantling of explosive ordnance devices. They have a ridiculously high rate of losing limbs, and many of these individuals are now with arms and legs. We would like America to take the millions of dollars they spend on beer on Memorial Day and instead donate it to the educational fund.”

Funeral Financials asks America to take their beer money and donate it to EOD Memorial Foundation.
