Frost & Sullivan to Hold Analyst Briefing on the European Neurophysiological Monitoring Market, the Golden Standard in Patient Safety
Date:11/11/2009

LONDON, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The healthcare market is facing a severe downturn due to adverse effects of the global economic slowdown. Costs for healthcare are reaching unprecedented heights, and the neurophysiological monitoring market is no exception. Market players in this industry have been faced with developments such as the decline in prices, limited technological advancements in hardware, high replacement costs, exchange rates fluctuations as well as rising competition and a lack of government spending in the healthcare sector.

In its upcoming Quarterly Analyst Briefing 2009 Frost & Sullivan will therefore focus on the market for Neurophysiological Monitoring Equipment. The analyst briefing will be held on Thursday, 19th November 2009, at 2 p.m. GMT and highlights will include an analysis of current trends and challenges which are driving as well as restraining the market, significant developments in the market and the road ahead.

"The neurophysiological monitoring market is in a mature stage, but the steady rise of neuropsychiatric disorders and the need to monitor the central and peripheral nervous system of patients has increased interest as well as demand for neurophysiological monitors," says Somsainathan C. Kamalasekar, Research Associate at Frost & Sullivan.

Companies in the market are forced to enhance their after sales service policy in order to defy competition and to attract new customers. They also need to understand the high receptiveness for technological upgradation among end users and that there is increased spending on R&D activities. At the same time, competition in the market is making the market players weigh the options of strategic alliances with competitors and technology suppliers to have an efficient sales network across different geographic regions and to increase the market share.

"Neurophysiological feature highest forms of patient safety as they are used during surgeries and in critical care units. Furthermore, neurophysiological monitoring equipment used in surgical and pharmaceutical treatments is considered to increase awareness among anaesthesiologists, orthopaedic surgeons, intensive care specialists, otolaryngologists, vascular surgeons, and interventional radiologists. Consequently it is expected to offer a better platform for growth for the players in the neurophysiological monitors market," concludes Somsainathan. C. Kamalasekar.

Frost & Sullivan will hold this conference call at 2 p.m. GMT on Thursday, 19th November 2009, which will demonstrate the potential of neurophysiological monitoring equipment.
