Higher accuracy through biographic and biometric fusion

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the biometrics market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes WCC Services US, Inc. (WCC) with the 2009 North American Frost & Sullivan Emerging Multimodal Platform of the Year Award for responsiveness to customers' requirements in developing the first and most unique combination of biometrics and fuzzy logic matching algorithms. WCC's ELISE ID delivers identity matches by using multimodal fusion across biometric, biographic, and contextual data - video capture, unique traits or features, criminal or travel history, PIN, barcode, or RFID data - which helps end-users to achieve a much higher degree of accuracy and reliability in identifying individuals than was previously possible.

Traditional Boolean search techniques only consider the black/white or true/false approach while ELISE ID follows a more granular methodology. It uses advanced technologies to calculate similarities and reports shades of grey to rank results by the aggregated match scores from each criterion. Its uniqueness lies in its capability to offer extremely fast, scalable, secure, and a multi-vendor compatible platform for different multimodal fusion algorithms.

"ELISE ID's standard-based platform allows multiple third-party biometric, text searching algorithms, and other data formats such as video to be integrated easily and cost-effectively," says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Neelima Sagar. "This advan
