Frontline Public Safety Solutions Helping Police Departments and Emergency Response Navigate Risky Coronavirus Safety Concerns
Date:3/30/2020

Frontline Public Safety Solutions is living up to its name as the coronavirus pandemic sweeps the country. In an effort to keep frontline officers and the public safe in the face of COVID-19, the company’s software solutions are enabling police interaction with community members while minimizing direct contact. They are also freeing up 911 lines for genuine emergencies and promoting social distancing. Knowing that time is of the essence, Frontline is currently offering a discount on same-day setup of its Citizen Reporting Module (https://www.frontlinepss.com/online-police-report-software), which requires little to no training.

According to a March 23, 2020 “New York Times” report (https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/22/us/coronavirus-police.html), “Police across the nation are treading lightly as the pandemic spreads. The article explains, “Facing sweeping new safety orders, a frightened public and health risks of close contact, many police departments have decided that, for now, less is more.”

Frontline Public Safety Solutions doesn’t believe PDs should have to make such decisions. To that end, the company now has same-day setup and discounted pricing available on its popular Citizen Reporting Module. Designed to keep officers safe, the software system provides the ability for the public to report non-emergency incidents online. That means they don’t have to come into the police station to file a report, thereby eliminating the direct contact that is being discouraged right now.

The module’s functionality has a message and link from the PD’s website to the Public Portal. There, community members can safely, from a distance, enter details of their “non-emergency” incident. Police personnel can then act accordingly based on the incident’s details and determine if they need to dispatch an officer. In connection with every incident report, police will receive the reporting resident’s details and can communicate with him or her via phone or email.

Since Frontline first released its Citizen Reporting software, more than 300 police departments have used the system with great effectiveness. Now, as Coronavirus sweeps the nation, the company is signing up new departments every day to help combat the issues they are facing with the pandemic.

In addition to making social distancing easier on police officers and the public alike, Frontline’s Citizen Reporting Module extends such precautionary benefits to 911 and dispatch centers. It also keeps 911 open for emergencies only and frees up dispatchers’ time and resources by affording them access to submit EMS reports online.

“In regard to COVID-19, police departments are facing unprecedented issues. They are being called upon to keep their distance from the public while still attempting to serve their communities,” explains Frontline’s spokesperson. “With regular daily activities where officers would normally interact with the public, they are now being told to keep their distance. We have a solution to help prevent them from being exposed to Coronavirus while still performing their duties. In these desperate times, we can assist PDs that are not currently set up to accept non-emergency reports. We can get them up and running almost instantly.”
