From Yemeni Veil to Miss Universe Pageant, Contestant Al-Masani Unveils New Look
Date:4/22/2010

ping-couturier extraordinaire Adolfo of A&B Couture, beauty treatment by Crystalis Clinic. A doctor and a representative of women’s fistula hospital in Somalia will be present to discuss the project after the kebab koubadiah and other Persian delicacies are served. Al-Masani aspires to eventually have Dr.Qaws of the fistula hospital appear on Oprah. Brigadier General Ford will talk about the applications of alternative dispute resolution created by aboriginal Canadians, and their application in intractable conflicts of the world, from Bosnia to Israel-Palestine to Somalia.

Ms.Hashemi, co-owner of Persian Express Cuisine says, “The pageant shows the diversity of our community, and we support the decision of Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu and other Canadian women who chose to wear the sari or to wear the swimsuit alike. With their decisions, Miss Universe-Canada embodies the Canadian dream.”

Al-Masani has escaped an arranged marriage at 14, and has written in the Hill Times on child marriage and Canada's contribution to G8 MDG 4 and 5.

Adolfo, Al-Masani’s couturier, might drape and sew an evening gown on a live journalist in five minutes! There will be an array of exotic appetizers, live Persian music, intriguing Persian dishes, deserts and famous Persian tea to accompany the performance of Maria Al-Masani’s dance.

Maria is one of 62 contestants for Miss Universe Canada
