Fresno Community Shows Appreciation to Veterans with Donation of Lifeclinic Health Station

Led by the vision and dedication of emerging leader participants in VA Leadership Program 'Class of 2009' at VA Central California Health Care System, a Fresno, California community rallied together to raise funds for a Lifeclinic Health Station to be used by its Veterans.

Burtonsville, MD (PRWEB) June 22, 2010 -- Led by the vision and dedication of emerging leader participants in VA Leadership Program 'Class of 2009' at VA Central California Health Care System, a Fresno, California community rallied together to raise funds for a Lifeclinic Health Station to be used by its Veterans.

Program participants brainstorm to generate ideas on the selection of an annual group graduation project. The Class thought it would be great to have a Lifeclinic Health Station in the Veterans Health Education Center and Medical Library for its Grand Opening in December 2009. David Read, Lifeclinic's Senior Vice President who discussed the equipment with the Class, pointed out that the Health Station conveniently measures blood pressure, weight and other vital signs. Funds to purchase the Health Station were raised through various Class sponsored fund raising efforts throughout the year and by working with the community. Not only did bake sales and book sales help make this dream a reality, but so did generous donations from organizations and businesses such as the Disabled American Veterans, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Pelco, and many of the community's residents.

Along with four computer terminals, a magnifying reader for individuals with poor vision, and a video education set-up, the Veteran's Health Education Center is now the proud owner of Lifeclinic's interactive LC500 Health Station. The Class is continuing to do follow-up work after their g
