Fresh Healthy Vending Brings Nourishment to New Jersey
Date:5/29/2013

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 29, 2013

A New Jersey man goes from hawking empty-calorie foods to championing healthy eating with Fresh Healthy Vending machines. A sales manager for Hostess Brands for over a decade, John Reaves was forced to seek new employment after they closed their doors late last year. Reaves was hopeful when he discovered an ad online for San Diego-based Fresh Healthy Vending.

Seeing the opportunity in the nutritional food trend, Reaves signed on as a franchisee with Fresh Healthy Vending. The company provides healthful snacks via their state-of-the-art vending machines and has found success in support of the national fight against obesity. According to Reaves, “Once I saw the objective of Fresh Healthy Vending, I knew that I could provide a great service to the community.”

He started his business in December of 2012 and currently has seven machines throughout New Jersey including the cities of Newark and Summit. He has one at Manhattan College in New York City, and his expansion plans include Drake College of Business and Cliffside Park High School in New Jersey.

His current locations include the historic estate and garden at Reeves Reed Arboretum, where he is the sole food vendor. The site is open to the public 365 days a year, Reaves stated, “I saw an immediate opportunity to serve, plus, the visitors say they really enjoy the food.” He recently provided hot beverages to guests as a way to introduce the products to the public. He considers it his mission to spread the word about Fresh Healthy Vending, which he believes has a great growth advantage.

According to Reaves, “There are schools in certain areas of New Jersey that don't have vending machines at all. Many people in the inner-city have no knowledge about how to eat healthy.” As a result, he is promoting Fresh Healthy Vending at local events. With plans for expansion, his grassroots approach is to visit schools individually and market the products by participating in community events. “With more schools involved the business will grow,” he said. “My hope is to say to the kids, ‘You can have these machines in your school too.’”

For those individuals who may be averse to the switchover from high-calorie, high-fat, empty-calorie foods to more nourishing options, he says, “You can have the same things, just healthier. They taste good and the calories provide nutrition. I want kids to know that they can have better options.”

With franchisees as the backbone of the business, Fresh Healthy Vending provides opportunities that can be described as “a cause beyond financial benefit.” Becoming a franchisee is part of a socially-responsible lifestyle choice that benefits others. It offers readily available healthy foods that serve the well being of each body and the overall health of a nation.

As the first and largest healthy vending company in America, Fresh Healthy Vending is unique in providing a range of products that meet and exceed the USDA standards. Machines are stocked with all-natural, organic and preservative-free snacks and beverages ensuring that nutrient-rich selections are available, gluten and nut-free products are among the 2300 choices too.

The latest vending technologies are employed, and the company leads with first-to-market in products and equipment. The company boasts the most comprehensive support structure for franchisees.

They introduced a completely new concept, the Freshandhealthy.org initiative for potential locations. It offers $1 million in incentives to sites around the country that want to provide healthy vending. So far, more than $300K has been given away.
