SAN FRANCISCO, April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its Employer Education Series, State Compensation Insurance Fund (State Fund) has partnered with Cal/OSHA Consultation Service to offer a statewide series of more than 30 heat illness prevention seminars. This will be the fourth consecutive year State Fund is conducting these seminars as part of its commitment to educate its policyholders and their employees about the serious dangers of heat illness.
"The hazards of heat illness cannot be overstated. Last year was one of the hottest summers on record for outdoor workers," said State Fund President Jan Frank. "State Fund provides these seminars to help protect businesses and workers in California."
From Redding to San Diego, the seminars are happening across the state now through the end of June. Attendees will learn how to evaluate their current procedures for effectiveness and receive tips to improve their heat illness prevention programs. Additional topics include environmental and personal risk factors and how to comply with heat illness standards.
The seminars are also open to the public, and many of them will be conducted in Spanish. To see when an event will be held in your area, visit the Seminars page at www.scif.com.
The seminar is part of State Fund's Employer Education Series offered throughout the state on a variety of workers' compensation topics.
