Ronzoni(R) Pasta Encourages Small Leaps to Heart Health with a FREE Box of

Healthy Harvest(R) Pasta for ALL Americans on February 29th

HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Every four years, Leap Day gives us an extra 24 hours. This year, on February 29th, Ronzoni(R) Healthy Harvest(R) pasta wants you to use that extra day -- which is also the last day of Heart Health Month -- to your heart's advantage. To help people take a small leap to healthier eating, the makers of Ronzoni pasta are offering a free box of Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Blend pasta to everyone in America on Leap Day!

With a unique blend of durum whole wheat flour, durum wheat semolina and wheat fiber, Healthy Harvest pasta has a great taste and light texture that make it easy to enjoy and reap the health benefits of whole grains. One serving provides 360 milligrams of ALA Omega-3 fatty acids, five to six grams of fiber and 34 grams of whole grains. That's 28% of the daily requirement for ALA Omega-3s, more than 26% of the daily fiber requirement and more than 70% of the daily requirement for whole grains, making Healthy Harvest pasta a great addition to a heart-healthy diet.

"Maintaining a healthy diet can seem overwhelming, but not when you make small changes gradually," says Keri Glassman, registered dietitian and author of The Snack Factor Diet. "Incorporating more whole grains and foods that are rich in fiber and Omega-3 fatty acids into your diet is a small change that can have a huge impact on your health."

A diet high in fiber and whole grains has been linked to numerous health benefits, including weight control and a reduced risk of heart disease. Research indicates that Omega-3 may play a role in reducing blood pressure, lowering cholesterol, reducing hypertension, and helping the body stay inflammation free.

"Ronzoni wants to make healthy eating a little easier for Americans," says Dave Heimbecker, Director of Marketing, New World Pasta.
