Free Compirion Bed Flow Webinar Helps Improve Patient Flow From ED to Inpatient Units

ELM GROVE, Wis., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Long wait times can lower Patient Satisfaction scores and jeopardize patient health and safety. Many hospitals constantly struggle with moving patients in need of critical or surgical care out of the Emergency Department and into a bed. Compirion Healthcare Solutions is presenting an important webinar, Hospital Bed Flow Process: Improving Patient Flow - ED to Inpatient, free of charge to help Charge Nurses, Nurse Managers, Directors, House Supervisors and CNOs improve and shorten the overall process of admissions from the ED to Inpatient Units. The full list of webinars can be found at, along with times, dates and registration information.

The Hospital Bed Flow Process webinar is being presented by one of Compirion's top clinical consultants, Roxanne Tackett, RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP. Tackett has just finished an improvement project at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois, where she slashed Door-to-Bed time from 5.6 hours to 3.26 hours and cut Bed Hold times from 3.5 hours to 1.17 hours.

Tackett has served as Director of Emergency Services at Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head, North Carolina, and at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton, Ohio. She was also the Director of Cardiopulmonary and Wellness at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Tackett received her Associate of Nursing degree from Lima Technical College in Lima, Ohio, and her Bachelor's in Business Administration, graduating summa cum laude, from Urbana University, Urbana, Ohio. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Healthcare Administration, also from Urbana University. Tackett is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association.

Compirion's presenters are drawn from its pool of consultants, which includes registered nurses, former C-level executives, physicians, business managers and clinicians. The webinars are running through September and average about 45 minutes each, with a question-and-answer session at the end.

According to Compirion management, "We are presenting this series of free webinars because we truly believe that efficiency in the hospital, especially the ED, not only saves time and money, it saves lives. The faster you can get a patient to treatment, the better the outcomes you can expect. It is the premise on which Compirion was founded."
