Frantz EyeCare Continues to Accept United Healthcare and Other Major Insurances

Fort Myers, Fl (PRWEB) December 05, 2013

Frantz EyeCare is pleased to be among the few ophthalmology practices in Southwest Florida who are still included on the United Healthcare 2014 roster of providers. We also accept Medicare, Humana, Florida Blue, Aetna, Cigna and numerous other insurances.

According to Frantz EyeCare Medical Director Dr. Jonathan Frantz, physicians’ relationships with insurance companies are becoming even more strained during Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation. United Healthcare, which is one of the top healthcare insurance companies in the country, is cutting at least 15% of physicians from its 2014 network in 10 states due to significant changes and pressures in the healthcare industry. Most of the cuts target physicians in the Medicare Advantage Program. Many other carriers are following United Healthcare’s lead.

Dr. Frantz is one of our area’s most innovative and respected surgeons. In May 2012, he introduced Bladeless Laser Cataract Surgery to Southwest Florida, the biggest advancement in 20 years. He continues to lead the way with ORA with VerifEye which provides an in-depth analysis of the patient's eye during surgery. The combination of the most advanced technology, a wide choice of intraocular lenses, and Dr. Frantz’s vast surgical experience offers area residents the opportunity to experience unparalleled cataract surgery.

Also a pioneer in laser vision correction, Dr. Frantz offers our area’s only Bladeless iLASIK procedure, which combines today’s most sophisticated technologies for improved safety, better vision and more precision.

Named in The Guide to America’s Top Ophthalmologists, Dr. Frantz and his medical team also offer routine eye exams and eyewear, treatment of eye diseases, and eyelid and facial cosmetic procedures.

To find out if we accept your health plan, please call the Frantz EyeCare main office at 239.418.0999.
