Fourth Annual Fibroid Awareness Week April 22-27 – Providing Hope for Women with Fibroids

One out of three women over the age of 45 will suffer from fibroids and many will undergo unnecessary hysterectomies. Fibroid Awareness Week was established in 2010 to help spread the word about fibroids and the treatment options.

Fibroid Awareness Week is sponsored by The Fibroid Treatment Collective and its founder, Bruce McLucas, M.D.

“Too many women are not receiving enough information on all of the options for treating fibroids,” said Dr. McLucas, “and some are not receiving any information at all. During Fibroid Awareness Week, we focus on separating fact from fiction and help women choose the option that is best for them.”

During this important week, a number of free events are scheduled to help educate women about fibroids and treatment choices, including embolization – a non-surgical treatment.
