Four Named to March of Dimes Board of Trustees

Mr. Germano also served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In his current post, Mr. Germano is responsible for the financial performance, operations and management, team development and customer experience of all Kmart's 1,382 stores. Kmart customers and associates helped raise more than $70 million in the past ten years for the March of Dimes. Mr. Germano and his wife, Karen, live in Wilmette, IL with their three children.

Roger C. Young, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Vermont School of Medicine. Dr. Young has reviewed scientific grant applications for the March of Dimes for six years, and has been a member of the organization's Scientific Advisory Committee since 2006. His academic and research career previously included appointments at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center; Medical University of South Carolina; and Duke Medical Center. Dr. Young is a leader in the field of uterine physiology of pregnancy, and has a long-range goal of decreasing the rising rate of prematurity in the United States -- also a component of the mission of the March of Dimes. He has published 41 peer-reviewed articles and dozens of abstracts, and has co-edited one book.
