Four Hospitals in Utah Receive the 2013 Healthinsight Quality Award for Leadership and Commitment to Excellence
Date:9/17/2013

Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) September 17, 2013

Davis Hospital and Medical Center, Jordan Valley Medical Center, Pioneer Valley Hospital, and Salt Lake Regional Medical Center are recipients of the 2013 HealthInsight Quality Award. The HealthInsight Quality Award is a program designed to recognize hospitals ranking in or above the 75th percentile in the HealthInsight national rankings, which are based on quality of care and patient perception of care (HCAHPS) measures.

“We are honored to be the recipients of the HealthInsight Quality Award,” said Ed Lamb, Division President — Western Division, IASIS Healthcare. “Our healthcare staff remains committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to all patients, and it’s encouraging to receive recognition for the jobs we love and do every day.”

The criteria for the 2013 award is based on care quality measures, a record of how often hospitals give recommended treatments known to produce the best results for patients, and Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), a national, standardized survey of patient perspectives of hospital care. Care quality measures constitute 70 percent of the overall ranking, and HCAHPS measures constitute 30 percent over the period of October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012.
