Mr. Hutchinson currently serves as a member of the American Health Information Community (AHIC) in addition to a number of leading industry organizations. He was appointed by Secretary Leavitt to serve as one of 16 commissioners of a federal advisory body, chartered in 2005 to make recommendations to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on how to accelerate the interoperability and adoption of health information technology. He has been instrumental in advancing efforts to recommend the necessary standards and priorities to accelerate adoption of healthcare IT.
