Date:2/18/2008

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Foundation Radiology Group (FRG) and the Brownsville Tri-County Hospital have signed a multi-year contract through which FRG will become Brownsville's exclusive provider of diagnostic imaging services.

"The Foundation Radiology Team has been absolutely incredible to work with," stated Richard W. Hritz, CEO of the Brownsville Tri-County Hospital. Mr. Hritz added, "From my earliest involvement in working to bring this hospital back online, their team has been there every step of the way, working with us as strategic partners to ensure that the hospital and our Radiology Department is equipped with state of the art diagnostic imaging technology and is staffed by a world-class physician group. Their knowledge and expertise of information technologies, radiology workflow along with their clinical expertise will ensure that Brownsville Tri-County Hospital can provide its patients world class service and diagnosis for the Brownsville Tri-County community."

Brandon W. Chan, MD, Chairman and CEO of Foundation Radiology Group and Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Brownsville Tri-County Hospital said, "It has been a privilege to be involved with the rebirth of this hospital, which is so critical to the health and well-being of the people in the Brownsville Tri-County area. We are looking forward to providing the hospital our ongoing support and the best possible diagnostic imaging services available today."

Dr. Chan is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and he is a member of the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Chan explained that his group provides radiology services to hospitals by using state-of-the-art technology, including the group's own Picture Archive Communications System (PACS) and a carrier-grade telecommunications network based from FRG's Pittsburgh reading center. "Our radiologists can solve significant problems for local hospitals. By bringing our own PACS and standardized image interpretation process, we are able to read and interpret images more accurately and efficiently, resulting in improved patient care," said Dr. Chan.

FRG Provides Clinical Experience in Radiological Sub-Specialties

"By providing a subspecialty image interpretation environment, FRG radiologists are able to provide the right information to referring physicians," states Derek R. Armfield, MD, FRG co-founder, Executive Vice President and nationally recognized musculoskeletal radiologist. Dr. Armfield adds, "Referring physicians demand concise, accurate reports that clearly outline the pertinent positives and negatives in a study and this is only possible with a world class radiology workflow and PACS system that we have implemented for Brownsville Tri-County Hospital."

Board-certified FRG radiologists can provide readings in musculoskeletal radiology, neurological radiology, interventional radiology, mammography, cardiac CT, brain perfusion, vascular ultrasound, OB-GYN ultrasound and general radiology. With this broad range of capabilities, FRG is ideally positioned to provide subspecialty radiological services to smaller hospitals that can't afford to keep subspecialists on staff.

The FRG network has board-certified radiologists available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide diagnostic imaging reads and interpretation for a growing number of institutions, including the Brownsville Tri-County Hospital.
