Fortress Ventures, Compass Real Estate and Thrive Senior Living announces the ground breaking of an innovative new Senior Living Community in Ft. Myers, Florida, to be called Thrive at Beachwalk.

Estero FL-based Fortress Ventures announced this week that it is breaking ground on Thrive at Beachwalk, an innovative new Senior Living Community in Ft. Myers, Florida. Atlanta-based Thrive Senior Living will operate the new community.

Thrive at Beachwalk will focus on resident engagement and connectivity in a very unique, resort-like environment. Using a blend of technology and an innovative approach to providing care when it’s needed, Thrive at Beachwalk will offer a distinctive experience for a new generation of seniors. Set beside a scenic lake and walking distance to retail and dining options, Thrive at Beachwalk will deliver a new standard for senior living in the Ft. Myers area.

While Thrive at Beachwalk will feature all of the amenities expected of today’s senior living communities, it also features some unexpected twists and one-of-a-kind offerings. The Wellness Center, for example, will feature advanced pneumatic fitness equipment designed for seniors, which have large touch-screen controls, and easy access for those with limited mobility.

The 125-unit community will feature a salon, meeting and entertainment spaces, multiple dining venues, and scenic water views. Licensed as an assisted living community, Thrive at Beachwalk will cater to seniors ranging from those who are completely independent, to those who need more care. There will be two separate and distinct neighborhoods within the community, one for Assisted Living and an adjacent Memory Care area dedicated to serving residents with varying levels of dementia. Using specialized technology and a focus on engaging each resident at their level of cognitive ability, Thrive’s highly trained care team aims to give meaning and a high quality of life to residents and to their families.

Residents will access their apartments using an advanced keyless entry system, eliminating the hassle and difficulty some seniors have with traditional keys. Thrive’s proprietary wellness program also gives residents, their families, and their physicians a holistic picture of their well-being through the use of technology tools including activity trackers and in-room monitoring systems, which learn each resident’s routine and patterns and can report anomalies and trends.

Thrive Senior Living’s unique approach also uses technology to improve residents’ quality of life, by delivering care more efficiently and with more accountability. Thrive communities utilize an integrated smart care platform which creates an entirely digital environment; it integrates communication, medication management, electronic health records, and resident care plans on a single device in the hands of each care team member. Physicians and pharmacists will have instant access to real time analysis of a resident’s complete health picture, creating a more holistic approach to care.

Thrive at Beachwalk is located at the intersection of Beachwalk Blvd and San Carlos Blvd, in the center of the rapidly growing Highway 867 Corridor on the Southwest side of Ft. Myers. The location itself features a peaceful and secluded lake which has factored heavily into the community’s design – allowing for the creation of unique outdoor spaces for dining, entertaining, and relaxing.

Thrive at Beachwalk is a Joint Venture between Fortress Ventures, Compass Real Estate and AIG Global Real Estate. Fortress Ventures is a real estate development company specializing in senior living communities throughout the United States. Compass Real Estate is an Atlanta-based private equity company that actively invests in all commercial property types and markets throughout the US. AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corp., founded in 1987, comprises a group of international companies within AIG that invests in and actively manages real estate for clients and AIG member companies throughout the world.

Construction financing has been provided by Centennial Bank. This unique community showcases the innovative design capabilities of THW Architects (Atlanta, GA).

A Welcome Center will open near the site in early 2017, and the community is expected to be fully operational in the Fall of 2017.
