Bradley, Illinois (PRWEB) June 01, 2013

Prairie Living at Chautauqua, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting a talk on the Ten Commandments by Dr. Sam Goldman, former chancellor of Southern Illinois University, at 10 .m. on Thursday, June 6.

The community, which is located at 955 Villa Ct. in Carbondale, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.

Dr. Goldman will be speaking on How God Delivered the Ten Commandments to Moses, says Heather Laughland-Etherton, Administrator of Prairie Living. He will be discussing the topic from the vantage points of the Jewish and Christian faiths.

A discussion and a question and answer session will follow his presentation, which is open to the public. There is no cost to attend.

"Our community provides older adults of all incomes with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Etherton. "Residents benefit from living in a residential apartment-home environment and receiving personal assistance and help with medications."

Each of the private apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
