Surprise Donation Will Be Made to Middle Island Man, 32, Injured Twice in the Line of Duty

WHAT: A surprise donation of a power wheelchair will be made during a benefit event honoring 9/11 responder Kevin O'Connor.
After terrorists attacked the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, O'Connor, a New York City Patrolman was dispatched to help at the scene.
Now, more than seven years later, O'Connor needs help overcoming respiratory complications from working at Ground Zero and debilitating injuries suffered later in the line of duty.
Although wanting to enjoy a more active life, the married father of three young children has struggled to maneuver his manual wheelchair and is in need of power mobility equipment to improve his quality of life. Citing Mr. O'Connor's many contributions to our society, The SCOOTER Store in partnership with the FealGood Foundation, is helping the disabled officer with the donation of a Jazzy Scooter through The SCOOTER Store's Gift of Mobility program.
