Food Lion Offers Customers an Opportunity to Support Hope for The Warriors in August
Date:7/31/2013

SALISBURY, NC (PRWEB) August 01, 2013

Food Lion is supporting wounded U.S. service members and their families throughout the month of August by offering customers an opportunity to donate to Hope For The Warriors® (http://www.hopeforthewarriors.org) at the register in select North Carolina and Virginia stores. In addition, customers also have a chance to attend nine Thriller on the Griller events in August.

“Food Lion is pleased to again help this nonprofit organization that helps wounded service members and their families who have given so much for our country,” said Joe Stock, director of operations and the event organizer. “These nine events and in-store donations will allow our customers to help us raise $650,000 to ensure these families have the resources they need.”

Last year, the Thriller on the Griller fundraising events raised almost $160,000 for the Hope For The Warriors®.

Food Lion customers will have several options to support Hope For The Warriors® throughout the month of August. Customers can donate funds in any amount to the nonprofit organization upon checkout at Food Lion stores located in the greater markets of Raleigh, N.C., Rocky Mount, N.C., Fayetteville, N.C., Wilmington, N.C., Chesapeake, Va., Norfolk, Va., Newport News, Va., and Hampton, Va., areas.

North Carolina customers will have an additional opportunity to support the organization by attending nine Thriller on the Griller events. During the Thriller on the Griller events, customers can purchase lunch donated by vendors for a small donation and also bid on silent auction items.

The series of events begin Thursday, August 1 at the Food Lion store on 128 College Plaza Drive, in Jacksonville, N.C. The event will start at 3 p.m., and ends at 7 p.m. Additional Food Lion stores will host similar events until August 18. '/>"/>
