Laboratory Accreditation Bureau (L-A-B), a division of A-S-B, is proud to announce a contract with the Florida Department of Health to provide on-site assessment services to applicant and certified laboratories as part of the Florida Environmental Laboratory Certification Program (Florida ELAP). L-A-B will work closely with the Department of Health assuring on-site assessments of laboratories are performed at appropriate intervals to the appropriate national and international standards using technically qualified assessors. The Department of Health will utilize the information provided to certify competent and qualified drinking water and environmental testing laboratories.
Accreditation Services Bureau (A-S-B) is a nationally and internationally recognized, nongovernmental, independent, limited liability company. A-S-B operates a voluntary accreditation division (L-A-B) to accredit calibration and testing laboratories. L-A-B is utilized by regulators and specifiers for the delivery of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation in conjunction with sector specific/regulatory requirements.
With this private/public partnership, L-A-B has expanded its services to include assessment services (without accreditation) providing the Florida Department of Health with all of the appropriate documentation and records to give final “certification.” For those laboratories seeking national, international and other specifier/regulatory approval, L-A-B will offer a combined assessment with other L-A-B accreditation programs (such as the DoD Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program) to meet the state’s needs for certification and L-A-B’s requirements for accreditation.
