Flax Seasoning will be exhibiting for the first time at the DC VegFest on Saturday, September 28, 2013. The DC VegFest which began in 1997 is hosted by Compassion Over Killing, a non-profit animal advocacy program headquartered in Washington, DC. They promote vegetarian eating as a means to help end animal cruelty and improve society.
Darren Baker, Chief Health Nut (President) of Flax Seasoning says that “Flax Seasoning is very excited to be participating in the DC VegFest for the first time. All of our products are vegan friendly and we love serving the vegetarian community. Plus, we are a company local to DC so it will be an honor to take part in the event.” Flax Seasoning is based in Arlington, VA and creates innovative spice blends with a healthy twist by combining flax seeds with spices and herbs. According to DC VegFest, the VegFest, “aims to highlight how easy and delicious it is to choose vegetarian foods in and around the nation’s capital.” The VegFest is free to all attendees and will be celebrating an array of vegetarian friendly cuisine and educating all who come on the benefits of a plant-based diet. There will be a number of speakers, food samples, and cooking demonstrations along with local food vendors to educate, entertain, and make this a fun event for everyone to enjoy.
The DC VegFest will go from 11am until 6pm and will be held near the Washington Navy Yard on the 200 block of Water St. SE (between New Jersey Ave, SE and 3rd St. SE).
