Fitness Expert Lorna Kleidman Offers Advice on Working Out During Business Travel
Date:3/1/2013

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) March 01, 2013

On March 1, Lorna Kleidman, fitness expert and kettlebell exercises trainer, responds to a recent article from the New York Times on keeping up with a workout schedule while you are traveling on business.

“According to a Columbia University study of 13,000 workers two years ago, people who are away from home 20 nights a month had poorer health on a number of measures,” the New York Times article stated. These people had an especially high rate of obesity in comparison to people who were away from home an average of one to six nights per week.

The article goes on to interview Dianne Sykes Scope, an exercise physiologist. Scope says people that travel a lot should take advantage of the time they have at home to hit the gym, but also recommends finding hotels that have great fitness centers. Scope also suggests creating an exercise routine that you can do in your hotel room.

The article advises that people that have to go to several dinners with clients should watch their portion control. Packing running shoes is also a great way to remind yourself to get some exercise while away.

Lorna Kleidman, a world champion athlete and kettlebell trainer, adds some of her own advice after reading the article. “While lugging around an entire set of weights just isn’t reasonable, I've found it very manageable to travel with one kettlebell,” says Kleidman. “You can choose a special weight for traveling that isn't unwieldy for you, and then you always have the option of exercising in your room, no matter how your hotel is equipped. This is a great option for business travelers who don't have any input in the accommodations they end up in.”

Kleidman adds that you don’t need much space for kettlebell exercises, and most hotel rooms can accommodate a basic routine.

Lorna Kleidman is a three-time World Champion and World Record holder in kettlebell sport and the most decorated kettlebell athlete in the country. She developed the innovative methods used in KettleX as a way to bring the benefits of the bells to everyone in an easy to use, comprehensive and fun format. Lorna has been teaching individuals and group classes for the past six years.
