First Choice Emergency Room Supports Austin Running Race
Date:5/10/2013

Lewisville, TX (PRWEB) May 10, 2013

First Choice Emergency Room teamed up with Back on My Feet to support their in24 Austin Race Challenge on May 11th and 12th. Throughout the weekend, individuals and teams will compete in a variety of races along a 5-mile loop near Camp Mabry, Texas. First Choice ER nurses and board-certified emergency physicians will be on-site to provide medical support throughout the weekend festivities.

Back on my Feet works to help those dealing with homelessness become self-sufficient. The non-profit creates running teams consisting of Residential Members (those experiencing homelessness) and Non-Residential Members (community volunteers) and uses lessons learned from running to help members move toward employment and more permanent housing.

“We are looking forward to a great weekend supporting these athletes as they run to raise money and awareness for Back on My Feet,” said Dr. Stephen Van Roekel, Facility Medical Director of First Choice Emergency Room’s Austin Arboretum location.
