Feel Fun, Fit & Fabulous! At the 2009 Women's Health Conference

CAMP HILL, Pa., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Highmark Blue Shield is pleased to once again present the Fun, Fit & Fabulous! Women's Health Conference, set for Saturday, Aug. 29 from 6:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center at West Chocolate Avenue and University Drive in Hershey, Pa.

Join the more than 6,000 women who have already taken a greater hand in their health by attending Fun, Fit & Fabulous! during the past six years. The seventh annual women's health conference is designed to offer women an opportunity to advance healthy lifestyle changes through education and awareness. This one-day health forum, sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield, will offer a variety of health-related workshops; dynamic speakers and presenters; health screenings, including cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, bone density and sickle cell; vendors, prizes and more. Women will leave feeling educated, informed and inspired about living a healthy lifestyle.

For the past six years, Fun Fit & Fabulous! has focused on health disparities for women of color. "This year, we hope to reach all women, no matter their background. Women have a universal bond and all share common health concerns. It's important for women to learn together how they can live healthier lives and pass along those lifestyle choices to their daughters and their granddaughters," said Dr. Rhonda Moore Johnson, Highmark's medical director of health equity and quality.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Ian Smith, a medical and diet expert, who will speak about the most prevalent health issues for today's women and how to overcome and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Sherry Christian, WHP CBS 21 News This Morning anchor, will serve as emcee.
