Feeding America Partner Support Expedites Disaster Relief and Recovery Efforts

, Missouri; Orange County, California; and Valdosta, Georgia and have been deployed to supplement the assistance provided by local Food Banks following disaster responses this spring.

Feeding America provided more than 25.6 million pounds of food and grocery products for disaster relief in support of its food banks in 2008. Much of this assistance was in response to the devastation caused by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

Feeding America provides low-income individuals and families with the fuel to survive and even thrive. As the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity, our network members supply food to more than 25 million Americans each year, including 9 million children and 3 million seniors. Serving the entire United States, more than 200 member food banks support 63,000 agencies that address hunger in all of its forms.
