Fatal Accident Leads to Lifetime of Wellness at New Chiropractic Office
Date:6/10/2017

The Joint Chiropractic, a national chiropractic brand, has announced its newest clinic at 19014 Bruce B. Downs is officially open for business. This is the brand’s 17th location in Florida and its third in Tampa.

The Joint offers an innovative, patient-friendly model that allows guests access to affordable, quality chiropractic care on their terms. Appointments aren’t necessary, the clinic offers extended hours that include evenings and weekends and the need for insurance is eliminated as The Joint’s visitation plans and packages are typically less costly than most insurance copays.

To celebrate the opening of this chiropractic office, The Joint Chiropractic – New Tampa Center is offering complimentary* consultations, exams and adjustments to the community during its grand opening celebration from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 10.

A single visit including a consultation, exam and adjustment at The Joint typically costs $39, though after their complimentary care weekend, new patients can take advantage of a discounted $29* initial visit fee. Wellness Plans are offered for just $69 per month, which includes up to four visits per month. Additional packages are available, depending on the treatment plan recommended by the licensed doctor of chiropractic.

Along with free* chiropractic care, The Joint Chiropractic Tampa, FL grand opening event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 8 and raffle drawings throughout the weekend for items including Tampa Bay Lighting tickets, an iPad mini, Apple Watch and more. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet and welcome The Joint’s wellness staff and chiropractors, Dr. Edward Leonard and Dr. Barney Bickerton.

The Joint – New Tampa Center is owned by Dr. Edward Leonard’s TJ Wesley Chapel PA and managed by Valerie and Alex Pierroutsakos’ VALEX Inc.

For Valerie and Alex Pierroutsakos, managers of The Joint – New Tampa Center, chiropractic care is personal.

In the spring of 1997, Alex was involved in a fatal car accident. The accident led to the loss of his limb and a lifelong struggle of managing his pain while still trying to stay active and healthy. Despite being constantly steered toward opioids and various other drugs, Alex was determined to manage his pain in a natural way. Instead of growing a dependence to opioids, he chose to explore chiropractic care and massage. He quickly found that the combination of massage and chiropractic was the key to managing his pain and staying injury free. However, he was only able to use chiropractic care on a limited basis, as insurance limitations and expensive chiropractic care centers prohibited him from going unless there was a specific problem or new injury.

“I have always wanted to have ongoing maintenance care and routine chiropractic services, but no model was available for me to get those benefits in order to stay aligned, prevent injury and manage bouts of phantom pain and back pain,” says Alex. “After I found The Joint, I was able to get regular care and therefore stay very active as a runner, golfer, basketball player and an active father, now being able to play sports with my kids.”

“The Joint removed all the limitations and challenges I previously had with obtaining chiropractic care. I quickly realized that having a membership in this model promotes preventative/proactive health care that would lead me to a healthier lifestyle with less pain. I could perform better in sports, save a lot of money in the long run, and most importantly, live an active lifestyle with my wife and our daughters.”

Alex and Valerie have three daughters, Elaina (age 12), Lydia (age 10) and Julia (age 7). The girls were a major factor in the Pierroutsakos’ decision to pursue management with The Joint.

“We want to set a great example for our daughters,” says Valerie. “We value educating our daughters on wellness and taking care of their minds and bodies while developing strong work ethics. We want to teach them how to run a successful business, do things the right way, work hard, contribute and be an active part of a strong community, and ultimately, we want to see each of them have a fulfilling, rewarding life helping others.”

Being local residents of Wesley Chapel and active members of the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce, Valerie and Alex are especially excited about the new location and the opportunity to help the community that they love.

“Valerie and I are focused on providing the care and experience from a patient point of view,” Alex explains. “We are both very strong believers in chiropractic care and focus on delivering the same great experience we expect as patients ourselves. We love knowing that we are serving our own neighborhood and are even more focused and proud to give our patients the best service and care possible.”

The Joint Chiropractic – New Tampa Center location is open six days a week: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
