Family Cocooning in the Face of Recession Leads to Expanded Business for Bay Area Fertility Doctor - Dr. Danielle Lane
Date:4/17/2009

NOVATO, Calif., April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Recent economic events have led people to re-examine their lifestyles and spend more time with their families. Many are feeling that it is time to get to the basics of what is really important, and they are deciding to start their families now, instead of waiting for security. This instinct for family cocooning is reflected in a growing number of couples who are consulting fertility experts. Dr. Danielle E. Lane, a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility physician, is a fertility expert with stellar success rates in helping her patients achieve pregnancy. She sees the desire for family cocooning as one of the reasons for expanding her practice.

She will now be seeing patients in three Bay Area locations: Novato - Marin, Berkeley - East Bay and San Francisco. On March 23 Dr. Lane opened new offices located at 2450 Ashby Avenue, Berkeley and San Francisco at 2100 Webster Street, Suite 320. She also sees patients at her Marin office, located at 101 Rowland Way, #305, Novato CA 94945. The main phone number for all of her offices is 415-893-0391.

Evidence of the trend towards cocooning can be felt everywhere. Rather than go out to the theater, restaurants or movies, people are enjoying their homes. People are vacationing closer to home and seeing the local sights with their friends and families. When they want to add children to their family gathering, they may find a need to consult a fertility expert to hurry the process.

"Partnering with OB/GYNs and doctors to see patients close to their home towns motivated me to open more offices to be easily accessible for consultations, especially to time-starved women," Dr. Lane says. "I wanted to make it convenient for them in their current busy lifestyles."

Dr. Lane has expertise in treatment of women 35 and older who are having difficulty becoming pregnant. Dr. Lane's outstanding success rates in pregnancies for her patients are the result of her rigorous practice model in which she individually follows all patients from initial consultation to their final visit.

Dr. Lane has treated a broad range of fertility issues, including recurrent miscarriage, polycystic ovary syndrome, male factor, endometriosis and age-related fertility. She has extensive training and experience in surgical treatment of infertility including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Her extensive clinical experience includes serving as Director for the Kaiser Permanente Center of Reproductive Health (Napa-Solano Service area) and formerly as the Associate Medical Director for Advanced Fertility Associates Medical Group Inc. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Lane has published writings on the diagnosis and treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome, uterine factor infertility, the surgical management of infertility and other related subjects. She was recently interviewed on ABC TV's "The View from the Bay" and on KGO radio with Ronn Owens.
