Facebook Piano Contest Goes International and Viral

Sonny's PianoTV "Win A Free Piano Contest" on Facebook has gone off the charts. With three weeks still remaining the contest has spread worldwide and has gone viral. According to Facebook statistics, the contest has reached over 1 million "Friends of Fans". American contestants from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds are gathering votes from their friends and fans from no less than 20 nations worldwide. At times, every 2-3 minutes, a new fan likes the contest Facebook page and votes for their favorite. "I have never seen anything like it" says the creator of the competition Sonny Dante Stancarone, owner and executive producer of Sonny's PianoTV Show, a piano & wellness variety program that promotes piano appreciation and piano playing for health & well being. Sonny says "We started the contest to promote pianos and piano playing but it has morphed into something beyond our wildest expectations. It shows how Social Media can help unite the world, in this case through music and in particular piano music."

With the lead switching back and forth between the top two contestants and the rest of the pack in hot pursuit, the tension and excitement is growing daily. Sonny's Piano Company, an online international piano retail store, is giving away 4 pianos for the grand prizes: First place prize being a brand new Albert Weber Upright Piano, second place a Stief Baby Grand, third place a Wurlitzer Upright piano, and forth place a Hardman console piano. In the first "Win A Free Piano" contest last fall, three pianos were given away to contestants within the continental USA. Still, votes poured in from all over the globe, including, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Russia, the Philippines, England, and Canada. Over 250,000 worldwide Facebook followers watched
